What, Where & When?
You know the way you always wish there was something or more you could do for your Kenyan community both in the Diaspora and in Kenya? Here’s an opportunity for you to join and participate in building a better Kenyan community in the Diaspora and be a part of the Kenya Vision 2030.
The Association of Kenyans in the Diaspora (AKD), a non partisan Kenyan community organization wishes to invite you to its 1st annual conference, dubbed “The Kenya Renaissance & Empowerment Conference (KREC), to be held at Bridgewater State College in Boston, Massachusetts on July 17th – 19th, 2009.
Why should you participate?
The conference aims at bringing together Kenyans and friends of Kenya from all walks of life from across the US. For young and seasoned professional the power of networking can never be under estimated. For the young adults it will present them an opportunity to rub shoulders with potential mentors and successful Kenyans and friends of Kenya that could be influential in the career path.
Networking with stakeholders from different fields and backgrounds including but not limited to – Financial Institutions and Investment Firms, Real Estate Developers and Mortgage Institutions, Tour and Travel companies, Academia, ICT, Media, Non-Profit organizations, US-based Kenyan-America students’ class of 2009 graduates (high school & college),

The highlights of the conference will include various plenary sessions, moderated panel discussions and events including but not limited to the following:

- Investment & Entrepreneurial Opportunities
- Marketing & Rebranding Kenya in the diaspora
- ICT/Media/Entertainment role in development
- Profit and Non-Profit Organization Booths
- US-based Kenyan authors’ booth
- Networking Evening - Connecting, engaging and igniting the young adults, young and seasoned professionals as future leaders of our communities and nation
- Honor and Recognition of US-based Kenyan-American students graduating from high school and college – Class of 2009
- Jamhuriwood awards black-tie banquet recognizing Kenyans and friends of Kenya in various categories
- Entertainment – Music and Comedy
- Volunteer/Mission Service
If you are a high school or college graduate, Class of 2009 or know of anyone who is, and would be interested in attending this conference, please feel free to forward their name and contacts to us.
If you are interested in participating as a sponsor to advertise to potential customers/clientele, sign-up information is available upon request.
